The Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon, combined with a humanoid robot half marathon, has officially opened its global invitation for 2027. The event is set to elevate its standards, expand its invitation scope, raise technical evaluation criteria, and increase the scale of its showcase platform. IT Home reported that the 2026 edition of the event saw a near fivefold expansion in scale, attracting over 100 teams from more than 13 provinces across China, including leading companies such as Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, Honor, Yu Shi, and Songyan Dynamics, as well as universities and research institutions like Tsinghua University, Peking University, and University of Science and Technology of China. The event also welcomed five overseas teams. The 2026 competition featured two main technical categories: autonomous navigation and remote control, with approximately 40% of participants falling into the autonomous navigation category. The 2026 edition also saw a record number of participants, a broadened range of involvement, and a diverse array of technical types. The 2026 champion was the 'Lightning' robot from the Qitian Dasheng team, which achieved a net time of 50 minutes and 26 seconds. The 2027 edition is expected to build on this success with further enhancements and a broader global reach.
