Alibaba launches qoderwake 1.0, digital employees now active in over 100,000 workplaces

On September 8, 2026, Alibaba introduced QoderWake 1.0, a digital employee product that allows users to describe job requirements in a single sentence, after which the system generates a role document. Once confirmed, the digital employee is equipped with knowledge of responsibilities, collaboration, and permissions. The product includes 10 specialized roles, such as frontend developers and data analysts, pre-tuned with industry expertise. Users can further customize digital employees by defining core responsibilities and workflows. QoderWake is now integrated with DingTalk, Feishu, and WeChat Work, enabling it to access organizational data, calendars, and chat histories. The system can also update knowledge based on confirmed guidelines from these platforms. Digital employees can operate within real work environments, with clear boundaries and default restrictions on high-risk actions. As of three months ago, nearly 100,000 digital employees have been deployed, completing over 2 million tasks.
