Alibaba unveils Qoder as a comprehensive intelligent agent platform

Alibaba has launched a new version of Qoder, transitioning it from an AI programming tool into a full-fledged intelligent agent platform. The updated Qoder is designed to assist users in completing tasks by understanding context, planning, invoking tools, executing, and validating results. Users can monitor, adjust, or take control of the process at any stage. The original Qoder IDE was first released in August 2025 and has since attracted over 6 million global users and more than 100,000 enterprise clients. The new Qoder focuses on intelligent agent tasks rather than code engineering, utilizing the latest Harness technology. It excels in long-chain autonomous workflows, including code retrieval, cross-file editing, test execution, and self-correction based on real results. The platform integrates top-tier models both domestically and internationally, with deep customization and collaboration with the Qwen model to enhance performance in areas such as long-context processing, automatic context compression, and tool invocation accuracy. Qoder offers two modes tailored to different user needs: a programming mode for developers and code-related tasks, and a general mode for broader applications where users can complete tasks without direct coding. The platform enables agents to work around clear goals, with planning, memory, local project data, and runtime status providing essential context. Features like Browser Use and Computer Use allow agents to interact with web pages and desktop applications. Additionally, Qoder supports over 40 connectors, 70 plugins, and 20,000 skills, integrating various work systems such as code repositories, project management tools, cloud services, and internal applications into its AI workflow. The platform also allows voice activation, providing updates on task progress, important reminders, and next steps. The desktop application for Qoder is now available, with international and Chinese versions accessible at qoder.com and qoder.cn, respectively. From August 27 to September 1 at 10:00, users of both international and Chinese versions of Qoder can enjoy limited-time benefits. Individual users can receive up to 2,500 Qwen series Credits over five days, with 500 Credits available daily at 10:00. Enterprise users can enjoy a 50% discount on using the Qwen3.8 series model during the promotional period.
