Alibaba's qwen office tool launches e-commerce version ahead of double 11
Alibaba's Qwen Office tool is set to release an e-commerce version ahead of the Double 11 shopping festival, according to a report by LatePost. The project, which began in June 2026 and entered concentrated development in September, is being led by CEO Chen Yushen and Huang Pibei. The e-commerce version, not an independent app, allows users to switch between the general version and the 'e-commerce operations' version. It features a dedicated interface and logic, marking Qwen Office's first industry-specific version. The tool currently includes sections for Double 11, analytics, product management, and marketing, but cannot yet adjust ad spend or manage stores automatically.
The e-commerce version integrates data from platforms like Taobao and Tmall through Alibaba's internal systems, with external platforms like Yizan and KeRuYun being added gradually. Huang Pibei, a senior algorithm expert, previously led the development of Huigua, an AI e-commerce tool. In May 2026, Alibaba announced full integration between Qwen and Taobao, enabling features like AI shopping assistants and AI store chatbots. The integration uses an Agent-to-Agent architecture, allowing Qwen to trigger Taobao's capabilities for consumer decisions and transactions.
