Alipay expands AI payment ecosystem with trust-driven innovations

At the Bund Conference, Alipay unveiled significant advancements in its AI payment system, transitioning from mere functionality to trust-based operations. The company introduced an AI wallet agent to manage transactions and three new AI receiving capabilities: Vibe Pay, Skill Pay, and Machine Pay. These features aim to enhance digital commerce by enabling AI-driven payments and monetization. Han Xinyi, CEO of Ant Group, emphasized that AI payments are now a cornerstone of agent-based commerce, moving beyond transactional steps to serve as a trust engine. Alipay's AI payments are now integrated with APASS, Ant Group's trust infrastructure, which verifies agent identities, intents, and authorizations. This system supports new scenarios like AI Subscription and AI Reservation, allowing agents to handle tasks such as ordering coffee or managing robot dogs. Partners like Gaode Momentum and Qwen Glasses are leveraging these capabilities to offer seamless, real-world payment experiences. The expansion also includes global reach through Alipay+'s payment network, serving over 2 billion users and 150 million merchants. Visa and Mastercard are collaborating with Alipay to enhance interoperability, further embedding trust in AI-driven commerce.
