Aliyun unlocks custom model access for qoder cli personal edition

Aliyun has announced that starting with version 1.1.50, the Qoder CLI tool now allows personal users to integrate custom models. The update, released on September 12, 2026, supports both international and Chinese versions, and is available to both free and paid personal accounts. Qoder CLI, launched in October 2025, is part of Alibaba's Qoder intelligent programming platform. Users can access built-in models by entering an API address, model ID, and API key. The tool manages a default context size of 128K if left blank. To add a custom model, users can press Enter after selecting 'Add custom model' or directly press 'n' to open the wizard. They must choose a protocol, such as OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible, and input details like Base URL, Model ID, Name, API Key, and Model capabilities before saving. The update enables greater flexibility for developers by allowing them to use models tailored to their specific needs. This expansion of Qoder CLI's capabilities reflects Alibaba's ongoing efforts to enhance its AI programming tools for individual users.
