On August 31, 2026, AMD announced the deployment of AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, powered by its Instinct MI355X GPU and EPYC CPU, alongside Cisco’s network chips. The system, which supports AI training and inference, is being used by HUMAIN, a Saudi AI firm under the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The setup includes Cisco’s N9000 switches, which use Silicon One processors and 800G optics for low-latency, high-resilience connectivity. As part of a 1GW collaboration, AMD, Cisco, and HUMAIN plan to deploy additional AI infrastructure using Instinct MI400 GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and ROCm software by 2027. The project, expected to reach 250MW, will start in the second half of that year. AMD also announced a new ecosystem initiative with Saudi’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to support developers and startups through tools, training, and community programs.
