Amp expands AI agent capabilities with OpenAI models
Amp, a company focused on AI agents for developers, is leveraging OpenAI models like GPT-6 Astra, Ultrafast, GPT-Live-1, and Sign in with ChatGPT to enhance its platform. CEO Quinn Slack emphasized that OpenAI's transparency and safeguards make its models easy to use, allowing developers to work seamlessly within Amp. Slack noted that some users consume up to 10 billion tokens weekly, highlighting the need for more tokens to fully explore agents' potential. Amp's new Sign in with ChatGPT integration provides access to additional tokens and models, including GPT-6 Astra, which enables users to tackle larger tasks.
Amp recently introduced Puck, a conversational AI assistant within its platform, allowing users to manage and launch agents. Powered by GPT-Live-1, Puck enables real-time interaction, even from a watch, helping users keep agents running while away from their computers. The company is also testing Ultrafast mode with GPT-6 Astra, which speeds up agent responses, changing how users approach task management. Slack envisions a future where agents handle more of the development process, allowing builders to focus on creative ideas without handling every step themselves.
