Anthropic expands startup support with free claude access and API credits
On October 6, 2026, Anthropic announced an expansion of its Claude for Startups program, offering qualifying companies a free year of Claude Team, its paid group plan with up to five premium seats, along with $1,000 in API credits. The initiative, launched during Anthropic’s SF Tech Week event, also includes access to the Claude Marketplace for building plug-ins and virtual office hours with the company’s Applied AI team. Anthropic emphasized that its mission centers on partnering with founders and developers to ensure AI benefits reach the broader public through applications rather than models alone. Eligible companies must have been founded in the last five years or received funding in the last two years. Interested startups can apply through the Claude for Startups program page.
