Anthropic introduces tools to help companies understand AI spending impact
Anthropic has launched a new suite of reporting tools to help enterprise customers understand the value of their AI token spending. These tools use internal analytics and employee surveys to track team performance, costs, and workflow inefficiencies over specific timeframes. Anthropic emphasized that the data will not be used for model training by default and includes recommendations for improving results. This initiative comes as businesses seek to optimize AI spending, with Anthropic leading in enterprise adoption despite competition from models like OpenAI’s Astra.
Jellyfish reported that usage of agentic coding tools, including Anthropic’s Claude Code, has grown 10x since the start of the year, now accounting for about 2% of total engineering costs. Nicholas Arcolano of Jellyfish noted that this growth highlights the need for optimization rather than just increased spending. Anthropic’s tools are seen as a lighter version of forward-deployed engineering teams, helping customers reduce the cost of switching between AI platforms.
Albarran, AI product lead at Jellyfish, explained that while competition is intensifying, Anthropic’s strong enterprise integration and established workflows have made it difficult for customers to switch. He highlighted that the cost of migration, including differences in how models handle tasks, is significant. As AI adoption matures, Anthropic’s tools are positioned to reinforce customer loyalty and support ongoing optimization efforts.
