Anthropic sets record with 30 trillion dollar AI market estimate ahead of IPO
The Wall Street Journal reported that Anthropic, a leading AI company, has outlined a potential market size of over 30 trillion dollars in its IPO prospectus, surpassing the previous record set by SpaceX.
This figure, which represents the theoretical maximum revenue if AI models achieved 100% market penetration, is significantly higher than SpaceX's estimate of 28.5 trillion dollars.
The valuation of 2 trillion dollars for Anthropic is supported by its strong financial performance, including a revenue of 116 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2026 and positive adjusted operating profits for the first time. The company aims to list on the stock market in the fall of 2026, with a target fundraising of 1 trillion dollars.
Analysts, however, caution that the high valuation may face challenges due to rising competition and constraints in data center construction. The final assessment of the market's response will depend on the details disclosed in the September IPO filing.
