Anthropic unifies claude chat and collaboration tools into a single platform

Anthropic has announced the integration of its Claude Cowork and standard Claude Chat into a unified platform, enabling users to run complex tasks seamlessly without switching between chat and collaboration modes. The new platform allows Claude to automatically invoke tools like web search, file analysis, code execution, and spreadsheet handling based on task complexity. This integration ensures that ongoing tasks continue to run in the cloud even if users close their devices or leave the app. The unified experience will initially be available to Pro, Max, Team, and Free users, with enterprise customers receiving at least 30 days' notice. Existing Cowork users will have their tasks, projects, and files automatically migrated, though they will no longer be able to switch between chat and collaboration modes. Some features, such as adding from GitHub or continuing tasks from previous conversation nodes, are not yet supported in the new interface.
