Apple and ADT set to launch smart home hub amid strategic expansion

Apple is set to unveil its first smart home hub at a "Welcome Home" event on October 13, with potential collaboration with ADT, the largest U.S. home security company. Reports suggest ADT has been hiring for a "Low Voltage Technician" role since July, with employees indicating the position is tied to home automation and installation services. ADT is reportedly providing iPhones to new hires, a detail that aligns with Apple’s rumored plans for a smart home hub. The partnership comes as Apple is also developing a privacy-focused home security camera and automation devices, set to launch in 2027. ADT previously partnered with Google, but the agreement is set to expire in 2026 or 2027, making the Apple collaboration a natural progression. Employees at ADT have signed confidentiality agreements, a common practice at Apple, further supporting the partnership speculation.
