Apple developing ai-powered indoor camera with privacy focus

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple is developing an indoor camera with the internal designation J450, designed to use AI to analyze its surroundings. The camera features a low-frame-rate sensor and an infrared sensor, supporting facial recognition for identifying people or pets. Users will receive textual descriptions of their environment rather than video footage, emphasizing privacy by avoiding the recording of private spaces. Gurman estimates the product will launch sometime next year and is not part of the Home Collection series announced on October 13. Apple may also assess the sales performance of the Home Collection series before deciding on launching its own branded smart home hardware.
