Apple released the first developer preview of iOS 27.3 to mainland China iPhone users, introducing Apple Intelligence and enhanced Siri capabilities. Key features include real-time translation integrated across Messages, FaceTime calls, and Phone apps. Furthermore, this translation feature extends to AirPods, requiring the latest firmware and pairing with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone for cross-language conversations. This advanced translation requires specific hardware, including iPhone 16 series, iPhone Duo, iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone Air, and specific AirPods models like AirPods 5, AirPods 4 (with ANC), AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods Max 2, with Siri set to English or Simplified Chinese. Other notable additions include visual intelligence, accessible via a long press on the side camera button, which allows users to query objects or locations by connecting to Qianwen for questioning and Baidu Image for searching. The Photos app now features an object removal tool, and Messages supports a new intelligent drawing emoji feature. Additionally, notification summaries are available, and the integration of Qianwen allows users to generate text and images directly within the iPhone, provided the user logs into a Qianwen account.
