Apple's new CEO john trenor prioritizes AI as he begins leadership role

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reported that John Trenor, Apple's Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, will officially assume the role of CEO on September 1st, with artificial intelligence as his top priority. Trenor, born in 1975, joined Apple in 2001 and has held increasing roles, becoming Senior Vice President in 2021. He will take over from Tim Cook, who will transition to Executive Chairman of the Board after a farewell gathering on August 23rd at Apple Park, attended by about 200 people. Trenor's first major challenge is Apple's fall product launch event on September 9th, which will introduce the iPhone 18 Pro/Max and an Ultra series foldable phone. While hardware remains the focus, the market will closely watch whether Trenor can shift the narrative to emphasize AI. The event will be themed 'Surprise Shines' and will take place at 1:00 AM Beijing Time on September 10th.
