Aws expands government AI services with major cloud providers

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded its GovCloudAI offerings, enabling U.S. government agencies to access AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Meta, and Amazon’s own Nova through the Amazon Bedrock platform. AWS GovCloud is specifically designed for U.S. government entities, offering a secure, regulated cloud environment. In a statement, AWS noted that the new service provides government clients, defense industries, and technology partners with a range of AI models via the GovCloud (U.S.) platform. AWS continues to experience strong growth, with a 63% increase in operating profit and a 37% rise in revenue during the second quarter of 2026. The AI and chip business has been a key driver of this growth. AWS executives predict the company’s revenue could eventually reach $100 billion, with approximately 85% of global IT spending still allocated to on-premises environments, indicating significant potential for cloud expansion.
