Baidu enhances AI search capabilities with cost-effective API pricing

Baidu has announced significant upgrades to its AI Search and Search AI API, aimed at broadening the scope of AI search applications and lowering costs for developers. The new API offers a promotional rate of 4.9 yuan per 1,000 calls, making it more accessible for enterprises and developers. The enhancements focus on four key areas within the Baidu App: Wenxin Assistant, AI Lens, GUI interactive scenarios, and AI interactive applications. Wenxin Assistant now provides one-time delivery across over 170 scenarios, while AI Lens supports real-time conversations in nine dialects. The GUI interactive scenarios have expanded fivefold, connecting to more than 5 billion data resources. Baidu is positioning AI search as a tool for task delivery, real-time interaction, and content consumption, with the goal of increasing adoption in enterprise and third-party applications. The company emphasized that these upgrades are part of a broader strategy to integrate AI search into diverse service forms, enhancing both functionality and accessibility. By reducing API costs, Baidu aims to foster greater developer engagement and accelerate the integration of AI search capabilities into various applications and services.
