Bank of america hires 1000 contractors to fix AI model vulnerabilities

Bank of America's CEO Brian Moynihan revealed that the bank has hired 1000 external contractors to address software vulnerabilities identified through AI models like Anthropic's Mythos. The contractors are working alongside 3000 internal staff to resolve these issues. Moynihan emphasized the urgency of addressing vulnerabilities as AI models become more prevalent, noting that the bank hired the contractors in the second quarter of 2026. The bank also reported spending over a few billion dollars in the third quarter on software vulnerability fixes and anti-money laundering compliance. Additionally, the bank is leveraging AI to cut costs, with approximately 130 internal AI projects expected to save $3 billion this year and $7 billion by next year.
