Black forest labs launches flux 3 image klein, a 5.6B-Parameter image model optimized for consumer gpus

Black Forest Labs has released the FLUX 3 Image Klein, an image generation model with 5.6 billion parameters, optimized for consumer-grade GPUs. The model is available in BF16, FP8, and INT8 versions, requiring 12.2GB, 5.6GB, and 8GB of GPU memory respectively. The INT8 version can run on NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs with as little as 8GB of VRAM. Testing showed that on a GeForce RTX 5090, the model generates a 1MP image in about 4 seconds, while on a GeForce RTX 4070, it takes under 9 seconds via ComfyUI. The model supports text-to-image, image editing, and multi-reference generation, with native 4K resolution and pixel-level precision. Black Forest Labs claims it outperforms larger open-source models in speed and quality balance.
