Black forest labs launches flux 3 image model with 4k resolution and precise AI element placement

Black Forest Labs, a German AI company, announced on October 2, 2026, the release of its image generation model, FLUX 3 Image. The model supports the creation of images at up to 4K resolution, maintaining rich detail even when scaled up. It is based on the FLUX 3 base model and emphasizes high controllability and fine-tuning capabilities. Users can assign IDs, descriptions, and precise bounding boxes to each element on a normalized 0–1000 coordinate grid, enabling accurate placement within the image. The model can integrate up to 10 reference images, with each object's position specified. Editing features allow for modifications to specific areas while preserving the rest of the image at the pixel level. FLUX 3 Image is currently a paid service, with an open version expected to be released within a few weeks.
