British AI startup Nscale secures $3.36 billion ahead of IPO
Nscale, a British neocloud company, has raised $3.36 billion in convertible financing ahead of its IPO later this year, according to an announcement made on Friday. The funding, led by hedge fund Third Point, includes $2.36 billion immediately available and an additional $1 billion from Nvidia, set to be received in mid-November.
The convertible notes will convert into equity shares once the IPO is completed. Nscale, which filed its IPO paperwork last week, is expected to be valued at $35 billion on the NYSE, with plans to raise $3 billion in the offering. Since its spinout from Arkon Energy two years ago, the company has secured over $103 billion in contracts.
Nscale is currently developing large data center campuses in Norway and West Virginia.
