On September 8, 2026, the Bund Conference launched the 'Ten Questions on AI Technology and Humanity,' addressing concerns from ordinary citizens like white-collar workers, teachers, and retirees. The conference, themed 'Co-Creating an AI New Economy,' focuses on how AI can create growth and ensure broader access to technological benefits. Economists Thomas Sargent and Philip Aghion will discuss AI's impact on employment and social value, while writer Liu Zhenyun will explore human creativity in the AI era. The event includes a 15,000 square meter tech exhibition showcasing AI applications in healthcare, education, and mobility.
The conference also tackles emotional and ethical questions, such as whether AI can replace human companionship and how to build trust in AI systems. Psychologist Li Songwei and writer Hao Jingfang will debate AI's role in emotions, while cardiologist Wu Xiaofu and retired senior Zhang Qianjin raise concerns about AI safety and authenticity. Environmental volunteer Yu Jin questions AI's role in climate change, and academics Zheng Weimin and Ling Wen will discuss energy efficiency in AI computing.
Over four years, the 'Ten Questions' initiative has evolved, reflecting changing public concerns about AI's integration into daily life. The 2026 conference features over 40 insight forums, more than 600 experts, and new activities like an AI Art Festival, highlighting AI's growing influence on society and culture.
