On October 9, 2026, Byte announced the merger of its TraeWork and TraeCode platforms, combining them into a new TRAE, a full-chain development platform. The integration aims to unify tasks previously handled by separate tools, offering seamless switching between Agent and IDE modes. TraeWork focused on office tasks and content generation, while TraeCode catered to developers. The new TRAE supports both modes, allowing beginners to build demos step-by-step and professionals to manage multiple agents across projects. The platform is available on desktop, web, and mobile, enabling users to start tasks on computers, monitor progress on mobile devices, and continue development on desktops. User data, including chat history, accounts, and commercial credits, will be retained and migrated automatically. The updated version is currently in a beta testing phase and will be rolled out gradually to all users.
