Byte's volcanic engine launches doubao cabin assistant for seamless car integration

On September 17, 2026, Byte's Volcanic Engine announced the release of its new car AI assistant, Doubao Cabin Assistant. This tool allows car owners to remotely control their vehicles, check vehicle status, and push travel plans from the Doubao app to the car's infotainment system. The assistant is designed to integrate with various car functions, including navigation, driver assistance, and entertainment, enabling complex tasks to be broken down and executed step by step. The Doubao Cabin Assistant also features a 'Doubao Screen' that makes the assistant a visible and interactive presence within the car. It supports multi-zone voice recognition, allowing passengers in different zones to converse freely without repeating the wake-up command. The assistant also has long-term memory capabilities, remembering individual preferences and allowing users to set personalized habits. Currently, the Doubao Cabin Assistant is collaborating with SAIC Motor, with the first vehicle to feature this technology, the SAIC Jiayue 07, set to begin pre-sales. Additional models from SAIC Audi are expected to launch within the same year.
