CapCut introduces ChatGPT plugin for video creation
CapCut, the video editing tool owned by ByteDance, has announced a ChatGPT plugin that will allow creators to generate video ideas and refine them through conversational interactions. The plugin, set to launch in the coming months, will enable users to develop a rough video cut using ChatGPT and then make adjustments by chatting with the AI.
CapCut demonstrated the plugin on X, showing how a user can upload sports clips and request a 12-second highlight reel, which the AI then generates and refines. Xiaoqi Fu, CapCut’s global head, emphasized that the new tools aim to center the creator’s imagination and judgment.
The plugin is part of several AI features CapCut unveiled at CapCut World, including generative AI tools and an AI agent. CapCut also plans to label AI-generated content with watermarks and C2PA credentials, and is testing a tool to detect AI-generated media from its apps.
