During his presentation at the 2026 World Top Scientists Forum, CATL founder Zeng Yuqun detailed how the company is leveraging artificial intelligence to accelerate energy research and innovation. Zeng highlighted that AI systems can rapidly screen thousands of chemical compounds, successfully identifying seven promising materials by analyzing over 600TB of foundational research data and more than 1 trillion test records. Zeng Yuqun cautioned that current AI capabilities are insufficient for the full scope of discovery, emphasizing the need for the integration of more scientists and more advanced models to accelerate scientific breakthroughs. The forum, themed 'Paradigm Shift: The Next Decade of Scientific Breakthroughs,' took place on October 31 in Shanghai, gathering nearly 300 representatives from leading technology firms and scientists, including Nobel, Turing, Wolf, and Fields award recipients. The event served as a platform for high-level discussions among attendees regarding future scientific paradigms, value chains, international collaboration, talent development, and technology governance.
