On October 10, 2026, the State Council Information Office announced during a press conference on the 'Fifteenth Five-Year Plan' that China will launch a series of initiatives aimed at promoting employment in the context of artificial intelligence development. These include the 'AI-Driven Employment Promotion Action,' 'Skills Illuminating the Future' training program, migrant worker employment promotion, high-quality public employment services, and the integration of human resources services with other sectors. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security had already outlined measures to stabilize employment, expand job opportunities, and improve quality, alongside policies to address the impact of AI on employment. The ministry also emphasized support for key groups, including recent graduates, and the establishment of a system to prevent poverty through employment assistance. These actions reflect a broader strategy to align workforce development with technological advancement, ensuring economic growth and social stability.
