China mobile launches open-rail, first universal engineering foundation for VLA/WAM models and robots
China Mobile has announced the release of Open-RAIL, the first universal engineering foundation globally that connects VLA/WAM models with robotic bodies. This open-source platform enables seamless integration between model inference, real-world execution, data feedback, and model iteration within a single framework.
Open-RAIL supports 10 mainstream VLA/WAM models, with new models requiring only 50 to 100 lines of code for integration. The system also enhances motion smoothness by reducing joint acceleration standard deviation from over 10 rad/s² to 0.1 rad/s².
China Mobile’s platform abstracts hardware differences, allowing new robots to be integrated with minimal code changes, as long as they meet the standardized interface requirements. The initiative aims to streamline the deployment of advanced robotics across different brands and models.
