At the 2026 China Unicom Partners Conference, which took place on September 10, 2026, at the Shanghai Expo Center, Hao Dongfeng, Chairman of China Commercial Aircraft Corporation (COMAC), announced plans to create an artificial intelligence training environment. This initiative aims to enable humanoid robots to operate within large aircraft production facilities. The conference focused on topics such as connectivity, computing power, and security, with the goal of building a new ecosystem for the computing power industry. COMAC, established in 2008, is responsible for developing China's large commercial aircraft. Earlier in 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission launched a campaign to deploy humanoid robots in real-world scenarios by year-end. The initiative seeks to establish a 'work mode' for these robots and develop over 100 high-value applications.
