A self-developed centaur-type heavy-load intelligent robot, named 'Xiaocheng,' made its public debut at the 2026 World Robotics Conference. The robot combines a wheeled-legged chassis with humanoid arms and dexterous hands, designed for emergency rescue and hazardous environment operations.
It is equipped with laser radar and multiple sensors, capable of reaching speeds of nearly 20 kilometers per hour. Xiaocheng can navigate between floors autonomously, moving through staircases to locate survivors in dangerous scenarios.
The robot's capabilities highlight its potential for use in complex and risky environments, showcasing China's advancements in robotics technology. The robot's design integrates advanced mobility and precision, making it suitable for a range of critical tasks.
The debut at the conference underscores the growing importance of robotics in both terrestrial and potentially extraterrestrial applications.
