Cloudflare launches Clairic, a new AI model for efficient data extraction

Cloudflare has introduced Clairic, a novel System One extraction model designed for Workers AI. This model processes text and images to extract typed values, such as totals, dates, and IDs, directly into JSON format without generating text. Unlike traditional large language models, Clairic delivers results in a single pass with no reasoning or output tokens. It is built on the System One framework from TypeSafe’s Jev, which focuses on fast, intuitive decision-making. Clairic excels in scenarios where answers cannot be predefined, such as calculating invoice totals or forecasting future events. The model provides probabilistic confidence scores and detailed statistical outputs for estimates and forecasts. In testing, Clairic demonstrated significant efficiency improvements, reducing processing time and costs compared to using LLMs for all stages of a claims pipeline. The model is currently available as a preview and is priced at $0.10 per million input tokens.
