DaxAI unveils rideable quadruped robots for 2026 world robotics conference
DaxAI Robotics showcased its骐骥 series of quadruped robots at the 2026 Beijing World Robotics Conference, highlighting the骐骥 X1 model. This robot features a saddle and handlebar system, allowing users to ride and control it much like a horse. The骐骥 X1 is a large, rideable quadruped robot that mimics the gait of a real horse, with four jointed legs instead of wheels or tracks. It weighs 300kg and can reach speeds of 7-10km/h, with a 40km range and 8-10 hours of battery life. The robot is powered by a 165V high-voltage battery pack and has a maximum joint torque of 1400Nm, supporting a dynamic load capacity of 300kg.
The series also includes the higher-end骐骥 XS, which combines wheels and legs in a hybrid design. Weighing 320kg, the骐骥 XS can reach speeds over 40km/h and has a 60km range. It can switch between wheel-based cruising on flat terrain and leg-based off-road mode on uneven ground. Both models come with high-voltage fast charging, riding data monitoring, and support OTA updates for continuous performance improvements.
The products are designed to test the feasibility of rideable quadruped robots, aiming to integrate robotics with autonomous systems to create machines capable of operating in complex environments. These robots are intended to function in scenarios where traditional wheeled devices are ineffective.
