DeepSeek extends v4 pro API access beyond september 14

DeepSeek has announced it will continue offering the V4 Pro API service beyond its originally scheduled shutdown date of September 14, 2026. The company stated that the billing model will remain unchanged. This decision follows user demand and comes after a series of updates regarding the transition to the new V4.1 Flash model. On September 9, DeepSeek informed users that all requests to V4 Pro would be redirected to V4.1 Flash, with associated costs based on the new model’s pricing. The company then delayed the shutdown of V4 Pro to 12:00 p.m. Beijing time on September 14, 2026. Earlier, on September 10, DeepSeek released the V4.1 Flash model, which is the smallest in its new model series and features native multimodal visual understanding. In benchmark tests, it outperformed several flagship models, including the V4 Pro. The release of V4.1 Flash marks a significant step in DeepSeek’s model development, offering enhanced capabilities while maintaining cost efficiency for users.
