DeepSeek harness expands with claude code mods compatibility and enhanced plugin management
DeepSeek Harness, an open-source agent platform, has introduced compatibility with Claude Code Mods in its v0.2.1-alpha.1 version, as confirmed by team member Cui Tianyi. The feature, labeled as experimental, aims to assess whether the extension capabilities provided by Claude Code Mods align with the 'everything as a plugin' architecture of DeepSeek Harness. Cui emphasized that the 'everything as a plugin' philosophy was established from the project's inception, alongside the open-source ethos, which is a core principle rather than a forced decision. The update also includes improved file handling, task automation, and a new plugin management interface for easier installation and management. DeepSeek Harness v0.2 was released on September 29, offering macOS and Windows desktop versions. Third-party plugins, used by approximately 60% of users, are central to the platform's experience, with plans to further develop the plugin ecosystem.
The latest release enhances user experience through better content preview and code change visualization, while also supporting document analysis, data visualization, and development assistance. DeepSeek plans to continue supporting and expanding the plugin ecosystem, including the development of an official plugin marketplace.
