Deezer, a leading music streaming platform, is set to launch a feature allowing users to filter out AI-generated music by year-end. The company announced the development of a toggle that will let users exclude AI tracks, albums, and related artists from their streaming experience. Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier highlighted the growing user demand for this feature, stating that the rise of AI music on the platform was a key factor in its creation. The company cited a survey from last year, which found that 45% of its customers wanted the ability to remove AI-generated content from their feeds. Deezer has been tracking AI music uploads since last year, when AI tracks accounted for 10% of daily uploads. By July, this figure had risen to over 50%, with an average of 90,000 AI tracks uploaded daily. Other platforms, such as Bandcamp and Tidal, have also implemented policies around AI music, while Spotify and Apple Music are exploring similar measures.
