Dongfeng's humanoid robot set for factory deployment this month

Dongfeng Automobile is set to deploy its humanoid robot in its factory this month, according to Zhang Zhenlin, chief general engineer of Dongfeng's intelligent technology. The robot will focus on tasks such as sorting and quality inspection in manufacturing. It will be tested in small batches by year-end, with the goal of matching human performance by the end of next year. Zhang also highlighted the deployment of robotic dogs, which will be introduced to 4S store sales scenarios faster than humanoid robots. He emphasized that embodied intelligence offers car companies significant benefits through reusability, as perception and decision-making capabilities from car large models and autonomous driving can be directly transferred to robots. Zhang noted that the future of embodied intelligence extends beyond humanoid or quadruped robots, with the car itself becoming a key form of embodied intelligence.
