Ema secures $77m to revolutionize enterprise automation with AI
Ema, an AI startup automating corporate processes across HR, IT, and finance, has raised $77 million in a Series B round, boosting its total funding to $140 million and quadrupling its valuation from 2024. Led by Creaegis, with Accel, Section 32, and Prosus increasing stakes, the round focused on primary equity.
Founded in 2023 by Surojit Chatterjee and Souvik Sen, Ema uses AI agents to orchestrate multi-step business processes, reducing reliance on traditional SaaS. Chatterjee noted that many customers are replacing large SaaS applications, viewing them as mere databases.
Ema now has over 50 enterprise deals, 1 million users, and $150 million in revenue bookings, with 90% of customers expanding beyond initial use cases. The startup also plans to expand into Asia-Pacific, South America, and the Middle East.
Chatterjee emphasized Ema’s focus on domain knowledge and integrations, rather than competing with frontier AI labs. The company maintains 80% gross margins and charges based on task completion, not usage metrics. Ema’s new capital will fund go-to-market expansion, with offices in Bengaluru, London, and Vancouver.
