Forbes lists top 10 youngest billionaires, highlighting ai's impact

Forbes has released its annual list of the 40,000 wealthiest individuals in the U.S., with the inclusion threshold rising to $4.4 billion. Among the 10 youngest billionaires under 40, seven have amassed their wealth through the AI boom, with four being co-founders of Anthropic. Anthropic, a five-year-old company valued at $1.5 trillion, plans to donate 80% of its co-founders’ wealth to charity. Lucas Walton, 39, is the sole inheritor on the list with a net worth of $44.4 billion. Tom Brown and Daniela Amodei, both 39, each have a net worth of $15.5 billion, with the latter co-founding Anthropic in 2021 after leaving OpenAI. Greg Brockman, 37, is the richest AI entrepreneur on the list with $25.5 billion. Edwin Chen, 38, founded Surge AI, which generates over $1 billion in revenue, while Steven Hao, 30, is the youngest billionaire in the U.S., co-founding Cognition in 2023. Non-AI billionaires include Vlad Tenev, 39, CEO of Robinhood, and Palmer Luckey, 33, founder of Oculus. Only two young billionaires, Walton and Chen, reside outside California.
