Gemini notebook now lets users engage with book content through AI
Google has introduced an enhanced feature to its AI note-taking application, Gemini Notebook, enabling users to interact with the content of books they have purchased. This new functionality, dubbed 'Expert Intelligence,' allows users to import titles from Google Play Books directly into the app. With this integration, users can now ask questions about the material, generate plans, infographics, and even create AI podcasts based on the content of the books.
During a briefing with The Verge, Steven Johnson, editorial director at Google Labs, demonstrated the capabilities of the tool by showcasing how it can be used to generate a recipe book using the information from Michael Pollan's 'Food Rules.' Additionally, the app was used to apply the knowledge from Kim Scott's management-focused work, highlighting its versatility in content creation and analysis.
The update marks a significant step in the evolution of Gemini Notebook, expanding its utility beyond traditional note-taking to include interactive and creative applications based on textual content. This development underscores Google's ongoing commitment to leveraging AI for enhanced user engagement with digital content.
