Google enhances AI assistant CC for family collaboration

Google is enhancing its AI assistant, CC, to support collaborative family management. The updated version allows up to six family members to share and manage schedules, to-do lists, shopping lists, meal plans, and permission forms. The AI assistant, which was initially a personal productivity tool, now operates on an independent cloud computer and leverages Gemini and Google's Antigravity AI systems. It can automatically update shared calendars and task lists, identify important dates, and generate documents such as PDF permission forms. The new features are available to U.S. Gmail users aged 18 or older, with new users able to join a waiting list. CC was first introduced as a personal productivity tool connecting to Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive. In May of this year, it was integrated into the Gemini app as a 'Daily Briefing.' The latest update enables independent sharing of information such as school activities, sports events, and medical appointments. Google stated that the upgrade is based on user feedback, with users requesting greater involvement in managing children's school schedules, sports training, bills, and family life.
