Google enhances Google photos with ai-powered management via gemini spark
Google has integrated its Gemini Spark AI agent with Google Photos, enabling users to manage their photo libraries through voice commands. The feature allows users to edit images, curate albums, create shared albums, convert concert flyer photos into calendar events, and automate workflows.
The update, announced by Google Photos lead Shimrit Ben-Yar on X, will roll out to U.S. Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in English over the next few weeks. International expansion details were not disclosed. The move reflects Google’s effort to make AI more appealing to consumers by simplifying tasks.
Meanwhile, the AI industry faces criticism for not effectively communicating its benefits, as noted by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Users must connect Google Photos to Gemini and activate Spark in the app to use the feature.
