Google's dreambeans AI app abandons subscription model, offers free access

Google has announced that its AI-powered app, Dreambeans, is no longer requiring users to subscribe for access. The app is now available for free testing in the United States. Dreambeans is designed to provide personalized news content through AI-generated illustrations, rather than allowing endless scrolling. It delivers a limited number of AI-generated news items each morning, tailored to the user's interests and location. The app uses data from Google services such as Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and search history to generate these recommendations. Users who previously had access only through the Google AI Ultra subscription can now use the app freely. The development team aims to gather more user feedback by opening the app to a broader audience.
