Grok bot gains dedicated email feature, marking a step toward autonomous AI operations

SpaceXAI, under the leadership of Elon Musk, has introduced a dedicated email feature for its Grok Bot, allowing the AI assistant to engage in independent communication tasks. The email addresses, ending in @mail.grokbot.com, can be customized by users, with availability checked by the system. Users can initiate the claiming process directly from the chat interface by typing 'claim your email address.' This update is part of a series of recent enhancements for Grok Bot, which now includes the ability to search, read, and monitor X content, as well as Shopify-related functionalities for order tracking and inventory management. The new email feature enables Grok Bot to handle email-related tasks beyond user-initiated conversations, though the functionality is being rolled out gradually. Grok Bot, launched in August 2026 as a test version, operates as a 'resident AI colleague' capable of logging into websites and apps, executing multi-step tasks, and handling tasks autonomously with human oversight when needed. It runs on a cloud computer with access to a browser, file system, and terminal, ensuring continuous operation even when devices are powered off.
