Hello robot's stretch 4 debuts at techcrunch disrupt 2026 with real-world AI applications

Hello Robot's Stretch 4, a home-assistance robot for severe mobility impairments, will be demonstrated live at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. Launched in May and sold out by June, the robot can perform tasks like feeding itself, closing blinds, and scratching an itch. Aaron Edsinger, CEO and co-founder, will showcase it on the Real World AI Stage. The demo highlights its ability to navigate human spaces with a single telescoping arm. Developed over six years with customer feedback, Stretch 4 features an open-source software platform. The event, October 13–15 in San Francisco, includes over 200 sessions and 300 startups. Tickets with up to $200 savings are available until September 25 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Edsinger, who founded Meka Robotics and Redwood Robotics, both acquired by Google, stresses the importance of practical robot design. The Stretch 4 demo illustrates real-world AI applications, showing how physical AI can assist humans. The event allows founders and engineers to see how decades of human-collaborative robotics experience shaped Stretch 4's development.
