Honor has released a video showcasing its humanoid robot, Yuanqi Zi, performing a dynamic running motion described as 'Lingbo Weibu,' a technique traditionally associated with martial arts. The footage highlights the robot's agility and fluid movement, which has been praised for its lifelike quality. Yuanqi Zi, along with another robot named Dianzhuan, has officially been announced as participants in the second World Humanoid Robotics Competition. The event, organized by the Beijing Municipal Government and China Central Television, will feature 50 competition categories, including 29 competitive events and 21 scenario-based challenges. These events range from autonomous sprinting and human-robot combat to precision table tennis and multi-robot football. Yuanqi Zi previously demonstrated its capabilities during the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon, where its running style mirrored human motion. In the same event, the Honor-developed Dianzhuan team achieved a remarkable time of 50 minutes and 26 seconds, surpassing the existing world record for men's half marathon set by a Ugandan athlete. Honor's robots also secured the top six positions in the competition. The second World Humanoid Robotics Competition is set to begin on August 22, with new events such as table tennis and free combat being introduced. Tickets for the event start at 98 yuan.
