HP unveils high-performance mobile workstation for local AI model processing

HP has introduced the ZBook Ultra G3a 16, a high-end mobile workstation designed for professionals requiring robust local AI computing capabilities. The device features an AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO400 'Gorgon Halo' processor and supports up to 192GB of unified memory, with 160GB designated for graphics. This configuration allows the laptop to handle large language models with up to 300B parameters, surpassing previous limitations tied to cloud computing. The ZBook Ultra G3a 16 weighs 4.2 pounds (1.9 kg) and is 17.9mm thick, offering 100W performance and optional 5G connectivity. It is pre-installed with Perplexity Computer's local intelligence agent and optimized for applications like Autodesk Revit2027, 3ds Max, and Chaos Enscape. The device is set to launch in October 2026 at a price of $7,449 (approximately ¥50,108).
