HPE confirms nvidia's rubin pcie GPU will be available in new servers
HPE has confirmed that its ProLiant DL585a Gen13 server will support NVIDIA's Rubin PCIe GPU. The GPU, part of NVIDIA's data center lineup, uses the SMX form factor and consumes up to 2300W of power, making it unsuitable for standard PCIe AIC cards without significant scaling and frequency reduction.
The Rubin PCIe variant could also belong to the RTX PRO series, potentially using the GR202 core, which is rumored to be the basis for the next generation of GeForce gaming GPUs.
The ProLiant DL585a Gen13 is a 10U server equipped with two AMD EPYC 9006 processors and supports up to 16 single-width expansion cards or 8 dual-width cards, offering 16 EDSFF E3.S (Thin) drive slots. This marks HPE's first release of next-generation ProLiant servers tailored for the AI era.
