Huawei cloud and ruijin hospital launch ruipath 2.0, a pathology AI model with 7b parameters

On August 30, 2026, Huawei Cloud and Ruijin Hospital unveiled RuiPath 2.0, a pathology AI model with 7 billion parameters, capable of diagnosing 19 common cancers and handling 205 diagnostic tasks. This model enhances diagnostic accuracy, transparency, and coverage of rare diseases. It also introduces a lightweight version, RuiPath 2.0 Edge, with 2 million parameters, deployable on standard hospital PCs for quick inference. The model achieves 96.48% accuracy in lymphoma diagnosis and outperforms overseas models in 42 out of 59 downstream tasks. RuiPath 2.0 provides detailed explanations in areas like histological subtypes and infiltration depth, improving trust in AI diagnostics. Huawei Cloud and Ruijin Hospital also developed a multimodal generative model to address data scarcity in rare diseases, boosting model precision.
