Huawei launches first national super node cluster in wuhan for large model training

On October 28, 2026, the Huawei China Tour 2026·Hubei Artificial Intelligence Innovation Development Conference was held in Wuhan, marking the launch of the country's first Huawei Ascend 950DT 1024-card super node cluster. The cluster, built by Hubei Science and Technology Investment, features a liquid-cooled design with 1024 Ascend NPU cards per node, offering 1EFLOPS FP8 computing power and 256TB of unified memory. It supports training of trillion-parameter large models and intelligent agent inference. The cluster will provide local computing power for Hubei's large model training and AI agent development, addressing the region's shortage of high-end computing resources. Huawei also highlighted the Ascend 384 super node, which has been deployed in over 750 installations.
